Bird Meanings??
My mom has called me telling me shes seeing all of these strange birds in their back year latley, and she has no idea why. Originally, they had an Owl on their post in their backyard during the daytime. Then she saw a red cardinal outside her window. And today there was a black bird outside her window, and of all things a Bald Eagle came and was circling around above their back yard. Then one of the trees filled with black birds, and the eagle remained. The eagle then swooped down and picked up what looked like a dead squirrel out of the road and left, leaving the back birds in the tree. Now I believe in signs, and I believe that if this is so out of the ordinary then it is something that should be taken note of and studied. I have looked and as of yet still have not found anything for the meaning of bird signs, so I figured I could at least ask on here and see if anyone knows what these may mean with a relevant source?? Please let me know, any legitimate answers welcomed. =)
They live in an area where there are little to no bald eagles.. thats what makes it so odd.

There’s a tonne of old folklore about birds. Look up the one crow sorrow old rhyme, as well as things about birds in the house. They have specific meanings.

Owl:bad omen, very bad especially if you hear it hoot three times at you, bad luck fear
Cardinal: prosperity, good luck, if it is on the left it’s a better prosperity
Eagle: Very lucky, supreme power of Jupiter

I think you are looking for signs when there is nothing there.
I think a bald eagle just saw free lunch in the road. They do eat carrion.
Edit: Bald eagles can be found throughout virtually the entire US these days as their population is improving.
It’s probably just signs of the coming of the rapture. Don’t worry. Just make sure you have your umbrella the next few days.

I can’t tell you much more than what I know of birds in general. Birds like eagles and owls are both birds of prey. They will be where the food source is, whether that’s live or dead (although both prefer live food). If it’s unusual for you to see these birds, then my guess is that a new food source has appeared. Have you or a neighbor put out new feeders that would attract small birds, which would, in turn, attract predatory birds? If the black bird was a crow, that’s also a carrion-eater, so my guess is that SOMETHING is luring them to the vicinity. It could be anything that will feed them, but I’d investigate and see what they could be feeding on.
Cardinals love any kind of seed, but ESPECIALLY sunflower seed. Cardinals are also monogamous birds, and given the opportunity, will come back to nest at the same spot year after year. The males are bright red; the females are a duller brown, so they may not be as obvious, but still have a red beak and some red feathers on the crest, wings and tail. I used to see them a lot when I lived in Texas; I now live in Washington state, and they don’t generally appear west of the Rockies.
If you’re interested in luring them back, a simple feeder with black oil sunflower seed should get the attention of any cardinal in the area (as well as lots of other interesting birds). But be careful – bird-feeding is ADDICTIVE

That is a very beautiful ‘question’. Nature belongs to Mother Earth who is in Her simple way giving people little nugdes, keep your eyes open. She has a lot more to show us.

As we all know the patterns of weather and such have been changing lately (from the controversial "global warming" reasons as well as others). From the view point of "evolution" though I don’t beleive in it…one thing is certain…animals adapt to their surroundings, so maybe that is the reason for this behavioral change, if it is one.
Between one free lunch and fighting with black birds the eagle chose the free lunch, nothing more.
Thanks Atom74; I’ve been seeing these red birds so frequently I felt that there must be some higher meaning. I’m at the library now, WOW! Prosperity, I need that. I’ve been homeless for some time and now I’ve been able to get a room for $50 a week. I work as a cashier . . . But most importantly, I have a strong faith in God. I knew that He was telling me something, but what? I couldn’t figure it out. Since I’ve been at this new place I saw them again. One place I was at I looked out the kitche window and the bird just kept getting closer and closer. It never seemed to go away until I walked away. my intuition tells me powerful things are happening for her. the meaning of the birds are change, maybe something in her life is overindulgent and also spiritually she will b brought home back to herself. has she been feeling lost or different as a person. not the way she used to b maybe.
